Have you ever felt like you were forgetting something (like I have done)? And if so, you look in the usual places and realize that you haven’t written anything done?

It makes you want to scream. Yet in our fast-paced lives, it is hard to remember everything that you should.

But could there be a way to kick-start your memory?

I think so, and it’s helped me. You can try them immediately and see if they help you too.

#1 Meditate – I’m not talking about getting in the yoga position (though that might feel good to you). I’m talking about stopping, being quiet, thinking, and recharging. Your brain gets tired and needs to recuperate.

#2 Eat better – What is fueling your body? What snacks are you eating? Eat foods that can improve your memory – your brain function – like foods that are high in antioxidants.

#3 Stop sitting – Sitting leads to a slower hear rate, but moving gets the heart pumping. And your brain needs blood to provide the nutrients and oxygen it craves.

#4 Work on a brain teaser – Like other muscles, your brain needs to be stretched. Try a word or number puzzle. Try one of the many apps that provide mental games/exercises. They help your mind in great ways.

#5 Take a break – Many times when we’re trying to think, we keep pushing ourselves. However, sometimes your brain needs a break. Do something else. Let your mind reset.

#6 Learn a new thing – This stretches our minds as well. Learning something new causes the neurons in your brain to come alive, and that boosts your memory in other ways.

#7 Sleep – You need proper rest. Your body needs it, and your brain needs it. It needs down-time to really recover.

These 7 things can make a big difference without doing anything weird or stressful. And they are common sense things as well. You’ll be glad you tried them.
