Who wants to grow old?
But who doesn’t grow old?
And why is it that you can take two people at the same age, and one will look much younger than the other – and act a lot younger, too?
Many people resort to cosmetic surgical operations that can cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Some take medication to eliminate radicals in the body (my wife and I do this – let me know if you want to know more about that at [email protected]). Some try out different cosmetics on different parts of their bodies, hoping to gain the youthful advantages of remaining young. But staying healthy and staying young is hard to achieve only through artificial means.
There are natural and risk-free ways for one to slow down the burdens of aging on our body’s systems. Believe it or not, some of these are psychological effects of your temperament. Some studies show that one’s outlook can result in a more youthful look.
Smile the wrinkles away…
Smiling a lot (at suitable times) is beneficial to you as it projects an image of confident energy, but it also allows you to stop worrying as much – compared to when a frown or a perplexed face is made. And a smile doesn’t distort the skin on your forehead – which increases the stress folds on your skin – causing wrinkle flaps, and frowning or worry deepens those folds.
Laugh the problems away…
We’ve all heard that laughter is the best medicine, but there is some truth to it. Not only does a smile project a positive outlook, but laughing deep inside at a problem can pep up the brain and help you gain the confidence level you need. By not seeing the problem as a burden but rather as a challenge to conquer, it really does help you seek the answers you need with less effort, less energy, and better efficiency. Laughing also boosts the release of endorphins – which gives a feel of simple euphoria on the individual – promoting a fit psychological state.
Usually, passive people don’t want to be pushy about things. They would find other ways to go around an issue and ward off differences while attaining closure. That might sound like a good way to remain fit and stay young, but the stressors are still there. And that can lead to further issues because whatever the problem is – is still there. The only way to get around an issue is to go through it. That doesn’t mean you have to fight head on. Instead, why not make fun of it in your mind to boost your confidence? Staying fit and young is an easy psychological conditioning of how you look at life – seeing more than problems – but seeing challenges instead.
It’s in your head.
That’s right! Looking young has as much to do with how you think and react as anything else. Try it.
