How Your Personality Affects Your Happiness

Have you ever noticed how some people seem happier than others – and not just those who seem to have easier lives?  Happy people often have specific personality types.  Consider how the following traits affect us…

Perfectionists

Perfectionists typically seek perfection in themselves and in others, and that can lead to less happiness (compared to those who “roll with the punches”).  A perfectionist may feel happy when they’ve done a job well, their focus quickly moves to the next task at hand.

If you can learn to enjoy the process instead of holding yourself and others to strict expectations, your happiness will increase.

Dreamers

Dreamers usually are happy.  Even though dreamers can be procrastinators (which can be stressful), there always is something new to dream about.

We can learn a lot from dreamers.  Think about what you want to see in life, and spend time dwelling on it.  You can increase your happiness by doing so.

Organizer

Organizing one’s life can be a good thing, but it can be too much of a good thing.  Balance is crucial.  If you focus too much on organizing things, you can miss the small and joyful things of life.  Also, you can become frustrated when things don’t happen like you planned.

Balance (again) is important.  Make sure your organizing leads to efficiency.

Positive Thinkers

Positivity definitely can lead to happiness.  Negativity can lead to strife.

Positivity can be wonderful as you become more confident in your life.  Your happiness will increase as your negativity decreases.

We cannot change our personalities, but we can learn from each other.  We can learn the good things that we need to strive for, and the things that we need to avoid.  The choice is yours.
